Welcome to an online resource devoted to sharing updates on the progress of the Energy Harvesting Study, a collaborative initiative spearheaded by Hamilton Community Enterprises.

The study’s purpose is to determine the technical feasibility and commercial viability of using residual thermal energy from the Bayfront Industrial Area in Hamilton, Ontario to heat buildings of all types through a proposed district energy system serving the surrounding community and beyond.

The study is the next step toward realizing the vision of Canada’s Thermal Corridor, a bold investment in green infrastructure needed to support the transition to a sustainable, low-carbon future.

“Join us in an exciting quest to unlock the compounding economic, environmental and social benefits of this unique opportunity.”

Jeff Cowan, President and CEO, Hamilton Community Enterprises
